Unspeakable arrogance - As Usual
by Slidin Fast intoday's wt para 1. if you are a young person, you have likely received much advice about your future.
teachers, guidance counselors, or others may have encouraged you to pursue higher education and a lucrative career.
jehovah, however, advises you to take a different course.

Let's face it, Capone was doing many criminal activities including murder but they got him on tax evasion. The money always trips these idiots up.

Is The Person Who Helped You “Get Into The Truth” Still Around?
by minimus ini helped, unfortunately, many people to become baptized jws.
recently, over the last few years, i saw many of my students who were still “ in the truth “ lament that i was no longer associating or active in the faith.. i do feel bad that i did such a good job that most of them still are in the cult.. are your teachers still around or did they wise up and leave the lord’s organization?

Interestingly enough, the people who taught me the religion are both family, elderly and have proven to be mentally ill. Hopefully I got out in time.

Good strategy?
by Olig inso obviously the best way to leave properly is fading, that's a given i would have thought?.
however i'm in a situation where i'm not sure what to do... i've just left home, nobody bar my parents / gparents know my address.
at my parents request they asked if i would switch my cards over to the closer kingdom hall.

When off the radar, stay off the radar. Don't talk about it and don't poke the hive by attending.

Favourite New Film
by jhine inl recently went to watch green book , which l thought was excellent , it had everything , it took me though the whole range of emotions , from anger to joy , laughing then wanting to cry .
the quiet dignity of dr shirley mixed with volatile nature of tony lipp and seeing their emerging friendship was wonderful .
what really shook me was that these attitudes existed in my lifetime , not that long ago .

Read my post again Toby and don't be so lazy. I know of the controversy but the movie is a bio pic which are often full of fiction. It stands alone as a work of art. It has a point and it made it. People were exposed to the Jim Crow south and that's a good thing. It was a very good movie. Of course you could sit and pout that it wasn't perfect. Ok. There's always the Lego movie. There's something for everyone.

Green book exposed the underbelly of the Trump base, not much change there it seems. Segregation starts in the heart, not the laws. Maybe that's how its propaganda? I didn't see any propaganda though and I don't believe my own opening statement either, lol.

Paradiseseeker; One thing about being a JW, we did things we thought we "Had to do." They weren't what we wanted to do, they were just things we felt an external pressure to do. Don't follow that pattern if you need not. Examine your needs, wants and then follow a practical plan to accomplish them. Don't feel you need to do it any particular way except one that is tailored to your reality. It's your life ya know. Not mom and dad's or the elders or even his majesty the great narcissistic murderer, Jehovah.
Take a breath, read the suggestions here, then come to your own conclusions. All the best.

Introducing myself
by Leopold theseconed ini have been introduced to this site by my new friends that are helping me navigate through the reality of waking up and finding out that i have been lied to my whole life.
i grew up in the truth and have given over thirty years to this organization and the few years i wasn’t there my mind was certainly trapped.
the more i think about it i am really not that surprised there was a lot along the way that should have woken me up but it took till recently.

Of the 6 men who were elders, (I was not an elder at this point); ... 2 had dementia one of which still conducted a book-study. We did some paragraphs twice in a row. It was a trial of faith. Another of the 6 was illiterate, in his 40's. He was a yes man until it came down to a lynch mob and then he was a hell of a guy.
The (PO) at that time was a self entitled man in his 4o's. He had the most hypocritical record of all. He gave all the parts on family study and never conducted one himself. He often spoke of how much he HATED the ministry. I wouldn't tell him if I had athlete's foot. What an AH. Once I was an elder too, I contradicted him so often because he was full of sh*t.
Another was very educated. Was a student of Koine Greek at Berkley. A true white collar guy. He was very shrewd, very wise, patient and caring. So humble. I could tell him anything. Loved the guy. So I've known good men on both ends of the spectrum.

Events leading to my decision to disassociate
by Roger Kirkpatrick infollowing is a summary of events leading up to my decision to disassociate from jehovah's witnesses and the unforeseen results of that decision.. a young man named joel engardio produced a documentary about jehovah's witnesses called "knocking" which aired nationally on pbs.
i purchased the dvd from joel before it was even released and we exchanged emails.
joel had been raised by his jw mother and had been active in jw activities during his adolescence, but he was never baptized as a jw.

My guess is that your marriage was over long before you DA'd. That was just an excuse to act on her true desire.
